Shipments to Germany

The identification number of the importer is mandatory and is required for every formal customs declaration. Identification Number (EORI/VAT number, German customs number). The EORI/VAT number will also be required not only for an importer of record but also for the consignee of the shipment if the goods were ordered directly by the consignee from a shipper in a non EU country or territory. Individual packs can clear customs without the information above, however, it’s at the discretion of the customs agent. EORI/VAT Number preferred for all shipments and required for bulk shipments/office shipments.

Shipments to Brazil

All shipments, including document and non-document shipments, must have the consignee's tax ID number written in 2B of the waybill and on the invoice. Non-compliance will result in customs holding the shipment until the number is received, and therefore result in delays. The tax ID number is:

o Companies - General Taxpayer Register (CNPJ)

o Individuals - Individual Taxpayer Identity Card (CPF).

Shipments to China

Anything to a personal address (residential) in China has requirements where the consignee has to provide ID #, proof of purchase etc.

Shipments to EU

EU countries do not allow individual recipients to receive any item used to consume food or drink. This includes water bottles, cutlery, etc. These items will be rejected by EU country customs. SwagUp is not responsible for shipments to the EU that contain these items

Shipments to Israel

Bulk shipments, or shipments of high value ($1k+), will typically require the recipient to have a valid import license for the shipment to clear customs. SwagUp is unable to provide an import license on behalf of the recipient. Failure to obtain a valid import license prior to the shipment arriving at customs will result in the shipment being abandoned or returned at the customers expense. SwagUp is not responsible if the recipient fails to comply with this Israeli requirement

Shipments to India

Per India customs requirements, all importers(recipients) must provide Know Your Customer forms (KYCs) which include the uploading of government-specific IDs (Passport, Voter Identity Card, Driver’s License, PAN Card, etc.) and authorize Power of Attorney (POA) documents to UPS and FedEx for customs clearance. All recipient information processed via SwagUp must match the details on the recipient’s government-issued IDs.

Step 1- The client who is uploading the CSV file must confirm the recipient name, phone number/address details provided are 100% accurate and match the government-issued IDs. (Please reference the below information)

  • Only utilize the company name field on the contact details if shipping directly to a business address. Please leave the company name field blank for all residential addresses. If there is a company name in the field, customs will treat the package as business clearance and will request business-related codes (IEC, etc.) Clearance will not be possible if this information is incorrect.

  • Please ensure that the recipient’s name used on the shipment matches the full name on their government ID. Nicknames and aliases will automatically be denied by customs.

  • Please ensure the address-specific details match the recipient’s government ID. This also pertains to the company name (if shipping to a business address) as it must match the name of the entity as spelled in India.

Step 2- SwagUp processes the shipment

Step 3- UPS/FedEx custom reps in India reach out to the recipient via the phone number or email address that was provided on the SwagUp contact details for additional information and instructions for finalizing the KYC Process. The recipient is fully responsible for submitting the documents and providing any updated information.

Step 4- Packages are cleared from customs once the KYC is approved and completed within the requested time frame. The packages will then proceed to the final destination for delivery.

*The recipient is responsible for providing correct information and following through with the KYC process. The shipment can be delayed or abandoned by India customs if there is no response from the recipient or the information that was provided was inaccurate. SwagUp will not be responsible for return costs/replacing the items.

KYC Documents:(for reference only, please refer to the customs agent directions for specific instructions)
